EH students utilize our hands-on courses and outdoor living laboratory, the Lifescape Garden, to acquire and sharpen horticultural skills needed for careers in the quickly expanding "Green Industry." The EH Program is open to all interested persons, even the avid home landscaper or designer, yet has an emphasis on career-path horticulture.

Transfer Information


Santa Barbara City College Environmental Horticulture Department (EH) has an articulation agreement with Cal Poly Environmental Horticulture Science (EHS) Department. The following courses are transferrable between Santa Barbara City College and Cal Poly.

Cal Poly University-Pomona has a similar 4-year degree program titled PLANT & SOIL SCIENCE within their School of Agriculture.

Many other colleges and universities within California have an assortment of agriculture and horticulture programs that may be closely allied to the SBCC-EH Department and its career horticulture teaching approach. The two Cal Polys (SLO and Pomona ) most closely parallel our program, with Cal Poly-SLO program officially articulated between the two schools.
