Learn Sustainable Landscaping & Horticulture
at SBCC's Environmental Horticulture Department
Welcome to the Environmental Horticulture (EH) program at Santa Barbara City College, a program geared to train students for careers in the field of horticulture, and deepen plant knowledge of home gardeners. Our courses equip students with vocational skills in Green Gardening, Sustainable Landscaping, Landscape Contracting & Design, Nursery Management, Irrigation Systems, Greenhouse Operations and Ecological Restoration. Horticulture Professionals take our courses for job advancement or upgrades. We offer four different A.S. Degrees (2-years) and two Certificates (1-year) and two Competency Awards (1-semester). Many students transfer to 4-year programs with most courses transferable to the Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo Horticulture Program and School of Agriculture, as well as programs at Cal Poly Pomona and U.C. Davis and elsewhere.
We welcome visits to our gardens and department, and look forward to seeing you.
